 The Country Companion Web Design Service

The Country Companion offers a bespoke Website Design & Construction Service specialising in Information Based Websites that promotes the your business across the internet allowing you to place your company in front of more customers, more of the time. The Country Companion will construct the your website and then either maintain the site ongoing for a yearly maintenance charge or teach the you in a series of learning sessions, so that you can continue to develop your own content, going forwards. Using a simple, web-based software package, provided through Microsoft, The Country Companion will create an engaging website that is easy to navigate, stylish & informative. The style & tone of the website will be appropriately delivered to ensure it meets the needs of the end consumers & we already specialise in working with Rural Businesses, Charities, Festivals, Equine Therapy & Legal Professionals.  We are versatile design company that is committed to providing a great end product.

Design & Setup Fee Will Include The Following:

  • Registration of the Domain Name to your business ~ please note there is a yearly charge for domain names unless a longer period is paid for upfront ~ we suggest you start by purchasing a 1 year registration & we can do this on your behalf ~ Go Daddy is our preferred supplier.

  • Registration of Email Addresses relating to the domain name ~ we register a new Windows Live Mail address for your business initially, this is used by us for validation purposes ~ then you can decide how many email addresses you want for your business that relate to your domain name for example, xxx@yourbusiness.com and the charge for this is £4.84 inc VAT per month per user, payable to Microsoft.

  • Registration of your business address on Google Places – this increases Search Engine Optimisation & ensures customers know how to locate your business.

  • Submission of your Domain Name to major Search Engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo) – whilst we cannot guarantee inclusion or ratings, most URLs accepted and by using Search Engine Optimisation we can improve your website's chances of being listed higher in the search rankings.
  • Search Engine Optimisation ~ this is a clever way of inserting keywords into your site that makes your business easier to find through a variety of search engines.

  • Keyword & visitor reporting showing where your traffic is coming from and how we can make better use of the web pages.
  • We will spend up to a day with you at your business, learning what you offer and understanding your business so that we can confidently communicate this to your customers.
  • We will also include a year's complimentary listing on The Country Companion website, in order to help you reach more customers.

We ask you to provide The Country Companion with the following:

  • Your personal Email Address (for registration purposes only) we will not ask you for your password.

  • Company History & details of you/the owner/employees (a brief biography, professional qualifications, specialists etc.)

  • Description of your business, products & services offered including charging structure/prices

  • Electronic copies of any logos, letter head, promotional literature

  • Product/Service information & photographs/images relating to the business

  • Address & Contact details for the business (where the business is legally registered etc.)

Fees:

  • £250 ~ Website Construction & Design of up to 15 WebPages or
  • £400 ~ Website Construction & Design of up to 15 WebPages including E-Commerce (where your customers can purchase from you online)
  • Yearly Domain Name Charge ~ this is typically under £15 Inc. VAT ~ we will also set up an automatic renewal for you so that you don't lose your domain name ~ we will make you aware of when this renewal should take place.

  • Microsoft charge £4.84 Inc VAT per user, per month for their hosting service, which is incredibly good value for money.  We require 1 user for us to update your site and the number of users after this depends on how many specific email addresses you would like.  We ask that you provide us with payment details so that Microsoft can direct debit your business, please make sure funds are available for this and that you account for this monthly charge within your accounting procedures.
  • Extra construction fees may be discussed with the client should the workload be over what would normally be expected for businesses of a similar size.

  • £150 ~ £250 ~ Yearly Maintenance Charge inc. VAT, payable 12 months after our initial invoice, we will ensure your domain name has been renewed by you and the your site is kept up to date ~ the scale of charge will depend on how many updates you have requested during the previous 12 months.

  • We can also offer you ~ 3 x 2 Hrs Client Learning Sessions @ £100 to show you how to use software & manage the website if you would prefer to manage your website yourself.  We can also offer as additional services:

  • Setting up a blog & keeping it up to date for you ~ or we can teach you how to do this. ~ £50 setup fee ~ £25 per hour learning session

  • Setting up a Twitter account & keeping it up to date for you ~ or we can teach you how to do this. ~ £25 setup fee ~ £25 per hour learning session

  • We can also offer an E-commerce website, where your customer can purchase online from your website ~ we prefer to use PayPal as this provides a secure payment method for both you and your customer and they also have a dispute resolution service.
